Walé Oyéidé, an afrobeat musician who has collaborated with the likes of JDilla and DOOM among others, is a former-lawyer turned menswear designer. Along with musician, tailor and co-creator Sam Hubler, Ikiré Jones is an exciting menswear brand that marries Oyéidé’s Nigerian heritage with European aesthetics.
Using menswear as a vehicle for story-telling, the brand seeks to subvert negative African stereotypes by employing rich colours, structure and impeccable fit to produce one of a kind pieces.
In addition to the cut and sew tailoring of sport coats, overcoats and shirts, Ikiré Jones also produces scarves and pocket squares that are themselves story-telling pieces. All of the tailoring is done in Philadelphia, and the accessories are printed in England.
